Shadow Frame & Matting 11"x14":

Handcarved mask, feathers acrylic and watercolor. This one made it to Isreal.

Mosquitoes in Alaska are a menace in the summer. They will fight with their lives to get to every exposed skin, and sometimes sting right through your shirt. They are very relentless. Yup'ik and Cup'ik of western Alaska have danced imitating the comical annoyance one experiences trying to swat the little buggers off and pretending to scratch during dance festivals.

Mosquito Dance II

  • Mosquito Dance is made with driftwood, smiling eyes, acrylics on mask, water color background, turkey feathers and guinea hen feathers.  The dance fances come directly onto the glass.
